Sandeep Deshpande is married to Swapna Deshpande who is also a politician. He has been locally involved in social work in Dadar and Mahim. He had offered support to film star Urmila Matondkar in 2019 Lok Sabha who had unsucessfully contested from the Mumbai North and also pledged support to Smt. Ekta Gaikwad from South Central.
Career
Sandeep Deshpande was elected as the G Ward (Dadar) Corporator in 2012 on an MNS ticket and is the leader of the MNS in the BMC.
Sandeep Deshpande Unearthed a Rs 900 crore scam of BMC by Garbage Truck contractors in 2016 through a RTI. He has taken up various issues related to roads, potholes and BEST strikes during his time as BMC corporator.

Controversy
In 2016, Sandeep Deshpande was arrested along with another BMC corporator for humiliating BMC Chief Engineer Sanjay Darade by making him stand on the road with a sign saying "I am responsible" as punishment for potholes on roads.
In 2017, Sandeep Deshpande and 7 other MNS workers vandalised a Congress office in Azad Maidan.
In 2019, Sandeep Deshpande was one of the MNS leaders arrested for protesting Raj Thackeray's summoning to ED for questioning.
Sandeep Deshpande called Prime Minister Narendra Modi the new Hitler of India on Twitter.
