Early & Personal Life
Rahul Shewale was born to Ramesh Sambhaji Shewale, an Indian Navy officer and Jayashri Shewale, an employee of MTNL. He married fellow Shiv Sena Politician and BMC Corporator Kamini Shewale in 2005. They have two sons.
He is a civil contractor and consultant by profession.
Career
Rahul Shewale is a two-time MP. He holds the record for being elected the Chairman of the standing committee of the BMC most times. He has also headed the Market and Garden Committee and the Ward Committee and was a member of the Law Committee.
He has raised issues in Parliament concerning the renaming of King’s Circle Station in Mumbai and the construction of a B.R Ambedkar Statue at Indu Mill in Mumbai.
Shewale is the first Shiv Sena MP in India and the first MP in Maharashtra to get an ISO certification (ISO 9001) for efficient and digital handling of grievance redressal and was recently awarded the ‘Best Parliamentarian’ title. He has presented several issues in Parliament related to infrastructure and environmental concerns.
After the split in the Shiv Sena, Rahul Shewale left Uddhav Thackeray and joined Eknath Shinde.
